Lifetime Impact at 5 Years

How we calculate this: Processing cost = (monthly giving Γ— rate%) + (transactions Γ— per-tx fee) Γ— 12 months. Competitor rates: Square 2.6% + $0.10; Stripe 2.9% + $0.30; PayPal 2.99% + $0.49. Our rate: 2.50% + $0.30 (midpoint of our range; nonprofits and churches often qualify for our 2.20% floor β€” apply to find out). Charity projection uses 20% conservative after-tax net margin on our gross processing revenue, then 50% donated, split equally among three partners. Actual donations depend on real profitability β€” we're pre-revenue and this model is a projection. Convoy of Hope meal cost ~$0.18/meal. Compassion child sponsorship ~$38/child/month. IJM rescue cost ~$150/survivor (estimated). We drop any line we cannot verify rather than fabricate it.

Works with your existing church tech stack

We're a payment processor β€” not a giving app. That means we sit beneath whatever platform your congregation already uses, not in competition with it.

β›ͺ

Planning Center Giving

Works Alongside

Planning Center Giving runs its own payment layer. We can process in-person card transactions (Sunday giving kiosks, coffee carts, bookstore POS) and settle funds via ACH to the same bank account your PCO Giving uses. Manual reconciliation with PCO's export reports.

πŸ“²

Pushpay

Works Alongside

Pushpay owns its own payment rails for mobile giving. We handle your in-person card volume β€” terminals, Sunday plates, event ticketing β€” while Pushpay handles app-based giving. Two systems, two uses, one bank account.

πŸ™

Tithe.ly

Works Alongside

Tithe.ly is a giving-first platform with its own processing. We complement it for card-present transactions and any payment channel outside their scope. Our monthly statements reconcile by date and amount to match Tithe.ly's reporting.

πŸ“±

Subsplash

Works Alongside

Subsplash Giving integrates payment processing natively. We serve as the processor for your physical card environment β€” terminals, gift shop, cafΓ© β€” while Subsplash handles digital giving through their app and website embeds.

πŸ—‚οΈ

Breeze ChMS

API Compatible

Breeze uses Stripe as its payment layer. If your church uses Breeze for administration but wants to run card payments through us (events, camps, in-person giving), our transactions can be exported and reconciled against Breeze member records via their CSV import.

🌐

Custom Website / API

Direct Integration

Building your own church website or giving form? We provide developer-friendly payment APIs and hosted payment pages that embed anywhere β€” no app required. Full PCI scope reduction with our hosted fields.

Honest note: We don't have plug-and-play connectors inside Planning Center, Pushpay, or Tithe.ly's dashboards β€” those platforms control their own payment rails. What we offer is a best-in-class card processing relationship that handles every dollar that doesn't flow through those apps: Sunday plate collections, terminals, events, camps, bookstores, and custom giving pages. If you're running a multi-channel giving program, we're the processor for the physical and API layer.

Answers to the questions your treasurer will ask

We built our underwriting and account structure around the specific needs of churches and Christian nonprofits. Here's what that looks like.

🏷️

Nonprofit Pricing Eligibility

Churches and recognized 501(c)(3) ministries qualify for our lowest rate tier β€” starting at 2.20% β€” versus our retail rate of 2.40%+. Your IRS determination letter is all we need to verify status. No annual re-certification.

πŸ“‹

1099-K Handling

We issue 1099-K forms when legally required (currently $5,000+ in card volume/year under IRS rules). Churches that qualify as exempt aren't required to provide SSNs; your EIN covers our KYC requirement. We'll walk your treasurer through the paperwork during onboarding.

πŸ”’

Reserve Requirements

Most churches require zero rolling reserve. We assess reserves based on chargeback history and industry, not religion. Established congregations with stable giving patterns typically qualify for no-reserve accounts on Day 1.

↩️

Chargeback Policy for Tithes

Chargebacks on church giving are rare but they happen. We treat tithe disputes the same as any card dispute: you respond with your records (giving history, member acknowledgment), and we advocate on your behalf with the issuing bank. There is no special "religious giving" exemption from chargeback rules β€” but good recordkeeping wins most cases.

β˜€οΈ

Weekend Deposit Timing

Sunday giving settles the same as any other day β€” batches processed by 6 PM EST fund next business day. That means most Sunday plate collections are in your account by Tuesday. Same-day and instant deposit upgrades are available if you need faster access to funds.

πŸ”

Recurring Giving Support

Set-and-forget recurring tithes are fully supported: weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or custom schedules. Card-on-file is stored in our PCI-compliant vault β€” your church never touches raw card data. Failed payments trigger automatic retry and optional email notifications to your givers.

Church-specific FAQ

Churches and recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofits qualify for our lowest tier: 2.20% + $0.08 per transaction for card-present (terminal / tap to give) and 2.50% + $0.20 for card-not-present (online giving pages, manual entry). Our exact quote depends on your volume and card mix β€” use the calculator above for a close estimate, then apply for an exact rate.
You can issue full or partial refunds from your merchant dashboard at any time. Refunds typically appear on donors' statements within 3–5 business days. For chargebacks (when a donor disputes a charge with their bank), we notify you immediately, walk you through the response process, and submit your giving records as evidence. Most church chargebacks are won with a simple transaction confirmation and donor history. There's no special protection against chargebacks on tithes β€” but organized records win cases.
Yes. Recurring giving is fully supported on weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or custom schedules. Cards are stored in our PCI-compliant vault β€” your church never handles raw card numbers. Failed payments (expired cards, insufficient funds) trigger automatic retry logic and optional email notifications to donors so they can update their payment method without contacting the church office.
The statement descriptor is customizable β€” you can set it to your church name (e.g., "GRACE COMMUNITY CH") so members recognize the charge immediately. A clear descriptor reduces confusion and dramatically lowers chargeback rates. We set this up during onboarding and you can update it anytime.
Yes. Multi-campus churches can operate under a single merchant account with location-level reporting, or maintain separate merchant accounts per campus under a parent organization umbrella. Both approaches are supported. For campuses with different bank accounts, separate merchant accounts with rolled-up reporting is the cleanest structure. We'll help you determine the right setup during onboarding.
Typically 3–7 business days from application to first transaction. The steps: submit your application (5 minutes), provide supporting documents (IRS letter, voided check, basic business info), get approved, reprogram or replace terminals, and go live. For churches switching mid-giving-season, we coordinate timing to minimize any gap. You don't cancel your current processor until we're live β€” no service interruption.
Our hosted payment fields and redirect payment pages are PCI DSS Level 1 compliant β€” the highest standard. Card data never touches your church's web server, which means your church falls into PCI SAQ-A, the simplest possible compliance tier (about 22 yes/no questions, no audit required). If you have an existing giving form that collects card data on your server, we'll help you migrate to our hosted fields to reduce your compliance burden.
We provide email and chat support Monday–Saturday. For Sunday terminal issues, we provide a technical support line for active merchants with urgent hardware problems. Most Sunday issues (reader not connecting, terminal offline) can be resolved with our troubleshooting guide in under 10 minutes. We're building this company around churches β€” Sunday availability is on our roadmap for full phone support as we grow.

Apply in under 5 minutes.

We review applications within 24–48 hours and provide a custom rate quote. No obligation, no hard credit pull, no contracts. Just a better way to process your congregation's giving.
